Body corporate hard work? Not with this strata management tool.

Self managed strata lady with computer

Really excited today to introduce our new Strata Pages feature!

This is our first big initiative this year, and is the culmination of lots of hard work by the Housenet team over summer holidays. While everyone else was lazing by the beach and drinking beer, we went hardcore geek and embraced all the thrills and glamour that web development has to offer.  Which is to say, we pulled long hours, gorged on junk food, and the closest we got to a tan was the glow from the office lights….OK, so what’s Strata Pages all about? Check this video out:

If you’ve ever lived in an apartment complex, block of units, villa or townhouse you’ll know that strata living is different from residing in a house. From crazy neighbours and by laws, to sinking funds and building defects, owning a strata title property presents some unique challenges. But the common issues that confront most strata communities are:

  • Communication
  • Ready access to strata scheme information
  • Rumours and disputes
  • Managing events and maintenance
  • Dialogue and relationships between lot owners

In fact our research found that communication and information management in strata schemes, especially self-managed, is often diabolical. There is no industry standard; some are using old clunky share software, others group emails – it’s a complete mishmash. So, we developed Strata Pages to solve this problem.

Now, owners and managers of strata buildings can create a micro social network for individual strata communities in minutes. Yes, like a mini-Facebook adapted just for body corporates!

Strata Pages provides a central PRIVATE online place for…

  • scheme updates
  • minutes, budgets, plans
  • documents
  • events
  • discussions

It even has a polling feature, which we think will be especially useful in the lead up to NSW strata reforms!

Who’s it for? We’ve made it essentially FREE (unless you create multiple pages) , and it’s for both professional strata managers and self-managed owners corporations. It’s what’s called ‘Software as a Service’ (SaaS), in that we host it on our secure servers so you don’t need to spend money installing it at your end.

For more info on this exciting development, including a tutorial on how to set up Strata Page, go HERE. While there, you can also download your FREE copy of our eBook Strata Stress Be Gone.

Thanks, I hope you find Strata Pages useful and please do leave comments – we’d love your feedback on this feature.

Cheers, Darren

    Hi there
We own one of the two duplexes which are currently under a body corp and we are looking to self manage.
Could you give us any advice?
    Thanks so much

      b) try this excellent forum http://www.StrataLive.com.au You’ll be able to chat to lots of others in your position for feedback & help
      c) Join http://www.Housenet.com.au/strata & use our Strata Pages tool to manage communications etc online

    HI Darren

HOw can I access the site to see if it is suitable for a committee to self manage a commercial building (strata scheme – only 15 lots)

    • Darren Moffatt May 2, 2014, 2:18 pm

Hi Millie, it should be suitable. You can join at no cost and give it a go! Cheers, D

Can we do body corporate without any strata tool. Is it possible?

    • Darren Moffatt June 5, 2014, 2:14 pm

Yes it is possible, but probably not recommended these days! Many older strata schemes with few lots are run this way, but online providers help manage systems and finances.
