If you are living in an apartment with thin walls, every single thing that your neighbour does that involve sound will affect you and your precious ear buds. There are few lucky ones who never have to deal with noise issues, but if your neighbour can’t simply close a door quietly, then you have a problem. Today, we will discuss what to do with neighbours with slamming doors. But before we go to our actual list of tips, here are some crazy recommendations you will find on the Internet:

If you can’t beat them, join them.

And finally, annoy your neighbour with this sound:

You can absolutely do all this and be crazy all you want. You can even spend the rest of your life in prison if you choose to be like the man who killed his neighbour because of slamming door. But if you are still in the right state of mind and just want to get rid of the slamming door and not the neighbour, here are some things that you can do:

 1. Leave a note at the front door.

There is a chance that your neighbour might not be aware that he slams the door quite loudly. Leaving a note at his from door and telling him about the slamming door can be you first ‘harmless’ shot in dealing with the problem. Your neighbour may appreciate the act, apologise, and thank you for it.

2. Talk to your neighbour.

If leaving a note didn’t work, it’s time to talk to your neighbour personally. Be polite and explain how the slamming of the door affects your life everyday.

3.  Buy your neighbour a gift.

If you feel like being generous, go ahead and give your neighbour anti-door slam stoppers or Quietouch residential door closers.

4. Talk to your landlord.

If you don’t want to be the ‘bad guy,’ report the problem to your landlord or building administrator and let them deal with your neighbour with slamming door.
